How AIA and the AIBD Help New House Design

Building a new home is one of life’s greatest joys, and it is for that reason that this process must be taken seriously and handled professionally.

AIBD is an acronym that means American Institute of Building Design. AIA on the other hand means American Institute of Architecture. The AIBD and AIA were established to ensure that the building standards are maintained. AIA for instance is responsible for the licensing of architects and ensuring that the licensed architects are up to the standards required.

People do not always to choose to engage the services of a professional or an expert in matters related to building and construction. This is partly because many people believe that it an unnecessary expense. However, experts caution that it is extremely important that professional consultation is made to ensure the successful completion of a home building project.

In addition, the AIBD, especially, has been very instrumental in enlightening people on the need to have an expert’s guidance in building and construction of a house. It has also informed the public on the materials that are most preferred in construction. The AIA, on the other hand, has worked tirelessly in ensuring that professional qualifications are met by the architects and all the key players in the building and construction industry.

Recently, the board of the AIBD has come up with a method of vetting professionalism and qualification in all the stakeholders in the construction industry. The board has established a certification known as the National Council of Building Designer. This has played a key role in ensuring that high level of professionalism is maintained in the construction industry. This is a further guarantee that the buildings under construction are safe. Despite common belief, architecture involves much more than designing a house.

AIA ensures that the professional code of ethics that govern the architects is followed to the letter. AIA has made a strict emphasis on the involvement of an architect and a qualified one to ensure that there will be no unnecessary costs incurred due to poor construction. A certified architect is very important in determining how strong the building you intend to put up is going to be. An architect can detect the weaknesses of a building just by looking at the design of that building on the piece of paper.

To ensure the success of your new home construction project, be sure to include the services of a certified professional building designer and/or licensed architect. And remember, your house plans are the most important and most crucial part of your new home construction project.

House Plan Purchased: SHPCOM-1364-1

"The building of the SHPCOM-1364-1 home is going great, I appreciated all that your company has done to help me in the process. Job well done..."

House Plan Purchased: SHPCOM-2000B-1

"We had a great experience with your company, website, plans and the people who helped us. We are about 3 weeks out from completion with the cabinets and painting on our new HPG-2000B-1 home being completed this week. The house and its design brings rave reviews from everyone. It sits on an acre of land that gently slopes to a wild type habitat with a small creek just off the property. We used native limestone (chopped) and used a 30 year matching shingle. The house and setting are really great. Thanks to you and all your wonderful people."

House Plan Purchased: SHPCOM-18002-1

"My wife and I were at our wits end trying to find the right house plan for our family. You’d think with all the thousands of house plans out there that we could easily find the right plan for ourselves. We found our way to another broker site and still couldn’t find the right design. Then in desperation we went back to the site and found two plans that were close to what we wanted. The two plans were from StockHomePlans.com, but neither was exactly what we wanted. The other house plans site got us in touch with StockHomePlans.com and soon their helpful staff were able to blend the two designs into the perfect design for us. Our Foundation was just poured yesterday and we can’t wait to watch our dream home come to fruition. Thanks Stock Home Plans.com for your expertise and help!"
